About me
Hello, My name is Prashant Patel, I come from a unique background and have a diversity of interests; I am a first generation Indian American whose parents immigrated to the united states from western India and East Africa. My parents settled first in Queens New York, and then moved to Central Long Island. I grew up in an environment that was framed by my two siblings. My older brother and twin sister. In this context I grew intellectually to appreciate how language and words frame one’s objective reality. One element that contributed to this world view was my physical impairment. I was still growing intellectually when my parents and I relocated to the central Florida area. As a result, I was able to cultivate an interest in politics and social activism that would later inform my experiences in volunteering and local government.
